Manufacturer: Brush Development Company (Brush Development Co.)
Model: BK-503 Mail-A-Voice
Type: magnetic disc
Place of origin: Cleveland, Ohio
Date of manufacture: 1949

Comments: Short-lived but remarkably popular magnetic disc recorder. Generally panned by reviewers at the time for its poor sound quality. One magazine noted that its cheap design presented a potential shock hazard, too. The foldable, mailable magnetic discs must have been appealing to consumers familiar with disc phonographs. The design was manufactured in the UK as the Recordon "Voicemirror" although the Brush Voicemirror series were all tape recorders.
